Inspiring Motherhood Interview
I'm so honored to have been interviewed recently over on the Mama Leonie blog as part of their Inspiring Motherhood series. She asked some great questions and got me talking about our home, our connection to the earth, our every day life and why I make my art! See the full interview here.
I'm thankful for the rich community that I have encountered over on Instagram, it is something that I have been so blessed by. Along with inspiring me daily I have also met some wonderful people there and Mama Leonie is one of them.
My daily photo posts on Instagram really have come to feel like my family's photo journal, the kids and I love to scroll back through my feed and look at what we were up to a month or a year ago.
Here are a small collection of our photos from the past few months.

Guest Post on Mindful Parenting
My kids and I love taking silly photos, don't you? Sometimes those are my favorites to go back and look at as they capture a moment that maybe wasn't special otherwise, but became special as we recognized that we shared the moment together.
Today I am honored and excited to be featured as a guest over on the blog Mum in Search, where the lovely Tat, mum of 2 (soon to be 3) explores all topics related to parenting, creativity and self discovery.
Tat and I met during the Intuitive Heart E-Course offered by my dear friend Lauren earlier this year. Lauren asked me to make a video for the course talking about the many ways that I incorporate meditation into my life on a daily basis to help myself practice mindful parenting.
Today over on Mum in Search I've written about a few of those tips that I find most helpful in keeping myself mindful in my daily life especially life as a parent of young children. You can come on over and read it all here.

VisionWise Interview
I'm so honored to be featured as the interviewed artist this month on my friend Lauren's soulful blog VisionWise. You can read all of our interview right here. Her questions were insightful, interesting and really fun to answer! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed doing it.

Open Studio
For the past eight years Frank and I have been a part of the annual Gowanus Artists Open Studio tour, a tour of artist studios in the Gowanus warehouse district of Brooklyn. While I no longer work in our warehouse studio since I have my studio at home, Frank always gives me space to set up, and I love being back in our old space full of memories where I used to make my art. The weekend is usually a fun filled time of talking about art and sharing glasses of wine with the people walking through.
This year was no different, there was a great turn out with a steady stream of people all day. Lots of friends stopped by, and Frank and I even gave an artist talk about our work to a large arts group from our church that came by.
I had fun setting up my wall with paintings from the past year, and I was able to sell prints, lots of cards and postcards, as well as magnets. In past years the tour has been over the whole two days of the weekend, but this year it was just on Saturday. Frank and I have sold paintings on the tour in the past but that usually happens when people see our work one day, then come back the next day to buy it after thinking about it over night. I guess that paintings are not often an impulse buy!
My kind parents came to watch the kids for us, so Frank and I had the special treat of being able to talk about art all day, and then head out to dinner together. As we were leaving the studio, we were treated to a beautiful classic Brooklyn sunset.
I think that the energy that I gained from the Open Studio carried me through this week. I often think of myself as an introvert, as I do enjoy my alone time, but then after an open studio or a show I also gain energy and get excited from talking with people about art, this weekend really was packed with that! I also had a nice surprise on Wednesday when I was featured on Stacie's Jewelry blog as her Artist of the Week, you can check it out here.
Now, how can it already be time to prepare for another weekend?
A Catalog and an Interview
The Lovely Clusters fall catalog came out today, oh my goodness, it is full of loveliness! Such talented artists, such gorgeous details.
I'm so excited that my paintings are featured on both the Multicolored page and on the Purple page.

There is such a soft, feminine aesthetic to the catalog that I love, I'm so honored to be included!
I am also absolutely thrilled to share with you that I am featured over at the lovely Dana Barbieri's blog today as part of her Art Biz Mamas interview series in which she asks creative mamas to share their secrets for making their art, while also being responsible for a home and family.
This interview was so rewarding to do, as her questions led me down a mental path that I'm still working my way through in an introspective way. She really helped me to evaluate where I'm going with this online adventure, how being a mother has changed my work, and especially how far I've come, from being a new mama six years ago trying to make sense of my life with kids!
You can check out the interview here, and I'd love to hear what you think. Maybe we can start a dialogue about how others of you make your work while also managing your little ones and your home? Right now, I'm typing this as I am letting the stove heat up to make dinner....so there you go, it is all about doing things where they fit in for me! Enjoy!

Chatting with BananaSaurus Rex

I have been following and enjoying BananaSaurus Rex, the often hilarious and always witty blog of Rebecca Thoms Hanley, for a while. So, I was thrilled when she asked if she could interview me about art, life, and everything. She posted the resulting interview on her blog today! You can read all about our chat here, where I discuss motherhood, making art, trying to do it all and everything in between. I figured since I'm revealing all in the interview why not really let it all hang out and show you a shot of my studio at it's most messy while I'm at it!
I love that there is a sippy cup sitting right there on my studio table.
Snap + Ink

I am thrilled to be included as one of the artists interviewed for this amazing new e-course by Snaps & Ink. The course is called Captivating, it is a journey into creativity. It is about preparing a safe haven for our creativity to manifest, taking a closer look at the world around us and being gentle and mindful with our dreams. It sounds amazing! I had the pleasure of getting to know lovely Madalyn during our Unravelling course, and I have to tell you, she's got some great ideas. The questions that she asked me in our interview knocked my socks off with their perceptive depth, and the list of other female artists that she has on the course agenda is really exciting. You can take a sneak peak here.
In her words:
"Our journey [in the e-course] will be invigorating and create fresh wind for your sails." I just love that.
