Walking in Autumn Light

Blue skies called to us, the day sparkled, so we headed out this morning to walk in Prospect Park and look for autumn's treasures.

Down winding wooded paths we searched...

a collection soon piled up in our stroller.

Still, the day called us on, the sun shone so brightly, the light became magic.

A mysterious stump caught our attention,

and we marveled at the wonders inside, a tiny city of fungi lining the walls of the cavern.

As we paused for a snack our shadows stood stark, the leaves rustled, the dappled light played on the ground.

Back at home, finally we laid out our finds, arranging each one and talking about the colors.

Delighting in our simple morning discovering autumn's pleasures.
