Islands

I can't contain myself, I just added three paintings from my new island series to my shop and and I just had to share with you how much I love them!

I have lived on islands for the past decade or so (though not too exotic, Brooklyn is on Long Island and we all know about the island of Manhattan) and if I have my choice I love to vacation on islands. I am also partial to their thematic usage. One quote that I always remember is, "Never come to an island expecting to find something that you didn't bring"...I have no idea where I heard that or who it is by, but there is wisdom there.
These islands are pure fantasy, here is what I wrote about them in my shop:

Inspired by Asian landscapes and fairy tales this little island sings of enchantment and relaxation, golden moments and mystery. Solitude, contemplation, a quiet place to sit and think. Calming the spirit, soothing the soul. Reaffirming connection to that deep part of yourself.

I have been loving the work of painting this series!

They are brilliant Faith. I think your photos are great too- really good "styles" shots of the art in it's environment- the rocks and the deer on the wall make me want to recreate that in my home.

These are so peaceful looking--so zen. I love the high contrast. Beautiful photos, too!
