I've just added prints of this new painting to my shop. It is inspired by springtime breezes, long days outside and the anticipation of the light heart that only the freedom of summer time brings!

Horizon

Horizon

I have always been drawn to Horizons. That point of intersection between the earth, sky and sea holds so much allure. There are the emotional and mental sort of horizons as well, when you can just feel something coming close...a breakthrough, or breakdown. You can catch glimpses of what's approaching, and gain insights into the bigger picture.
Inspired by Asian landscapes, enchantment and mystery this painting is about the possibility that Horizons hold.

Print Sets

New for 2010 I have just added Print Sets to my shop! Within my work there are pieces that just go together, and I had fun putting together groupings that have such a dialogue. The print sets are available in 5 different color ways...

Yellow

Blue

Pink

Green

And the Affirmation Series of prints is in a rainbow color spectrum.

The groups look great popped into simple frames and hung together on a wall (I've just used Ikea frames here). There are also enough in the group to keep two for yourself and gift two to someone very special, should you wish.

I'm getting closer to choosing my words for 2010. I've settled on one word, which feels like it needs a partner, so I'm just narrowing down my choices. How about you?

Holiday Fair

If you're in Brooklyn this Saturday, come by John Jay High School in Park Slope (7th Ave. bet. 4/5 St.) for holiday Leaves and Feathers! I'll be selling prints, stationary, and wood mounted prints at the Holiday Craft Show with my friend Kristin Breneman Eno, who has some lovely Jewelry--check out her work here.

Magical Journey

OK, for those of you that have been asking, I'm so happy to say that here is it. My Magical Journey triptych! Prints of my three paintings Evening Time, Taking Flight, and Sweet Dreams all mounted together on a wooden block. The edges have been sanded smooth which brings out the light blond color of the wood.


This piece of art looks great standing on its own, leaning against a shelf or mounted on a wall (there is a hole drilled in the back for hanging on a nail).
And it is now available here.

I know that there are still two weeks left of 2009, but is it just me or are the rest of you starting to wrap up the year mentally? I accidentally wrote 2010 the other day, I know that I am jumping ahead here. I loved this post today by the always inspirational Andrea Sher, about a completion ritual for 2009, definitely worth giving a read.

Today I am excited to announce my very first shop giveaway! I love to celebrate the start of each season and this feels like a wonderful way to welcome in the first day of autumn and the beginning of one of my favorite times of year here in NYC.
