Indeed, his bottom front tooth, the first to break through his gums as a baby, is now nice and wiggly, especially this week as he has had a while to play with it with his tongue.
I so remember that feeling, being a kid with a loose tooth, and the excitement of wondering when it was going to come out!
I had the idea of making "Tooth Fairy Pillows" for both of my kids, but really I figured that I had a year or so to start that project.
Clearly that was a little naive, so, since returning home I have been knee deep in felt, working away on Jasper's tooth fairy pillow.
Because, of course it needs to be ready for the big event.
Here he is, our tooth fairy pillow, Mr. Owl, keeper of teeth and the tokens that the tooth fairy brings.

Oh, there is so much to say. First, your lovely new profile photo. Beautiful. And I love your new banner even though I loved the old one as well.
And you owl has me in love. I've been thinking about how to make a little tooth fairy pillow for a while. I grew up with a favorite made by an artist friend of the family. I love the felt and the color and all the detail. You've inspired me. I'm sure I won't get to it for a while but I know I'll be using your pillow as inspiration.
That is so darling! I need to find something to put my son's tooth in, this whole "wrap it in a paper towel" is not a pretty sight... :)
oh You MADE that adorable owl??? I am so impressed! I thought for sure you bought it from another etsy shop. What a truly lovely gift for Jasper. How fun for your family!
Oh, does this bring back memories . . . Don't parents often say that they live their childhood over again through their children? It must be so. All the little things that parents do really add up over time . . like taking your tooth from under your pillow {back in the olden days we didn't have a cute owl pillow!} and leaving a dollar or some coins. It's an odd idea really, but I remember it was such a huge deal! I know that must be a lot of fun for you & your husband.
I just saw this post, and am impressed again by all your talent woman. This owl tooth fairy pillow is adorablle. I love it... :)
