[Painting of the Week] Waking

Waking

Waking as if from a dream, through winter and into spring.
This painting is about the waking up of the senses, the body and the mind during springtime. It is about the way that even the buds on the plants almost seem to laugh at that time of year!  Everything is so new, so fresh.
At about this time in summer I often tend to have amnesia about how much I longed for the warmth during wintertime, and I get annoyed with summer for getting me all hot and bothered. This painting reminds be to enjoy each moment for the beauty that it holds.
Prints of this painting are now available here.

Happy Monday, and happy August (how is it August??)!

Such beautiful words to go with this impression-painting!

Yes, the best is to see the beauty of each season. Every one has its charm.

You have beautifully caught the transition from winter to spring!

Hi. Love the colors you choose. I look at your paintings and feel calm. They are so "soft" and comforting.

Oh, you sound like me! What a lovely reminder to enjoy this moment, this season! It is really lovely how the two seasons are distinct, yet merge here.
