Maypole

This past weekend we welcomed May with a beautiful Maypole celebration with Jasper's Waldorf Playgroup. This is one of my favorite seasonal festivals of the year, I mean dancing outside with flowers! Seriously!

We met at a secret spot in the park and wove flowers into magic crowns,

then danced with the bright ribbons around the pole while singing songs of spring. Welcoming in my favorite season, which already feels a lot like humid summer here. What joy to spend an afternoon of celebration outside with friends. It is hard to believe that it has been a whole year since last year's festival! Which means that my blog birthday is coming up tomorrow, I'll have a special give-away to celebrate.

Really nice photos and a great party!
It reminds me on my childhood when I have been making this flower-crowns together with my mother.
